President announces reward

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani felicitated the cricket team on its victory in the final of the Twenty20 World Cup cricket tournament. The president also announced awards of Rs 1 million each for captain Younis Khan and player of the match Shahid Afridi and Rs 500,000 each to other players from the president’s discretionary fund. In identical messages from Naudero in Larkana, Sindh, to the captain and manager of the national cricket team, the president termed the victory as one of the most magnificient moments in the history of national cricket. The prime minister in a telephone call to Younis Khan congratulated him and the team on their splendid performance. staff report
